PAB: Black Children Comprise 80% of Police Use-of-Force Incidents

An investigation by Rochester's Police Accountability Board has found that black children make up 80 percent of the city police use-of-force incidents against juveniles.

Most of those black children were boys.

The PAB reviewed more than 1100 reports, supplied by police, of incidents over 18 months involving juveniles in the city.

It found 30 percent of the incidents involved mental health crises and many incidents involved search warrant executions and traffic stops.

Handguns were pointed at children in 27 percent of the incidents.
