Head of Rochester Marijuana Trafficking Ring Pleads Guilty

There's a guilty plea from the leader of a marijuana trafficking ring whose turf war with a rival gang led to the killing of a Rochester police officer.

Rasheem Sullivan has pleaded guilty to one federal drug trafficking charge, and one gun crime.

He's expected to receive 9 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Sullivan's ring clashed with a gang led by Brandon Washington.

Washington allegedly helped recruit Kelvin Vickers from Boston to kill dealers connected to Sullivan.

Vickers was convicted in the July 2022 killing of Officer Tony Mazurkiewicz, as well as the killings of two of Sullivan's dealers.

Vickers's sentencing remains on hold, due to information from a witness in a federal case who was with Vickers just before Vickers opened fire on Mazurkiewicz and partner Sino Seng.
