New NYSP Acting Superintendent Named

There is a new acting superintendent for the New York State Police.

Colonel Dominick Chiumento has been a deputy superintendent and is succeeding Steven Nigrelli, who resigned as acting superintendent when the governor's office told him he would not be named the permanent superintendent.

That decision came after an investigation of allegations he mistreated employees.

Chiumento has been with the State Police since 1990
