A Rochester sex offender will serve 25 years to life in prison for a homicide last September in the Edgerton neighborhood.
55-year-old Ronald Lagasse was found guilty in July of second-degree murder.
Prosecutors say Lagasse bludgeoned 65-year-old Mary Simzer to death in an alley on Pearce Street, off North Plymouth Avenue.
Lagasse was previously convicted of rape in 1997.
