A million dollars in state funding will go toward a new youth center on Rochester's southwest side.
Teen Empowerment is seeking to build a new center across the street from the current facility on Genesee Street.
They're still soliciting donations for construction and furnishing expenses.
Designs include a large community room, study areas, and a multimedia recording studio.
State Senator Jeremy Cooney was able to secure the funding.
