Rochester Police Arrest Man in East End Homicide

Rochester police have made an arrest in a January homicide in the city's East End.

23-year-old Gregory O'Neal is charged with 2nd-degree murder and 2 weapons counts.

Police say he gunned down 25-year-old Michael Mathis in a parking lot at the corner of East Avenue and Union Street.

They believe Mathis was involved in an argument prior to the shooting.

Police later confirmed Mathis is the same man who was found not guilty five years ago in the 2015 triple homicide outside the Boys and Girls Club.

Police believe the argument was over the Boys and Girls Club homicides.

O'Neal is being held without bail, and is due back in court next Wednesday.
