Authorities in Yates County say elderly man with dementia killed his wife.
Penn Yan police say a home health aide found an 89-year-old woman strangled to death with a bath towel in the bathroom of a home yesterday afternoon.
The 89-year-old husband was also found on the bathroom floor alive, but in poor health.
The woman's body was taken to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Police say the husband is at the hospital, and is incapacitated and unable to communicate.
