The longtime voice of the Buffalo Sabers has passed away.
The team announced Rick Jeanneret died yesterday, after a battle against multiple-organ failure.
Jeannearet called games for the Sabres from 1971 until last year, the longest tenure in National Hockey League history.
He was known throughout the hockey world for his distinctive voice and signature calls.
Jeanneret was 81 years old.
