Recent Changes to the State's Absentee Ballot Laws Will Remain in Place

The state Appellate Court has upheld recent changes to the state's absentee ballot laws.

The finding partially overrules a Saratoga County judge, who sided with claims by the state Republican and Conservative parties that the changes are unconstitutional and increase the risk of fraud.

Proponents say the new laws are supposed to make it easier for voters to vote by mail and make it easier for elections offices to canvass the ballots.

There's no word yet on a possible appeal.
