Governor Hochul is expected to reevaluate the state's school mask mandate on March 4th.
The Albany Times Union reports the rule could be lifted later that week.
Hochul also reminded residents that while her administration continues to monitor scientific data, there is still no specific 'magic number' that would prompt an immediate lifting.
She explained that determining metrics can be extremely difficult, given the situation's fluidity.
She points out prior numbers that were dramatically reversed by the Omicron variant.
