Monroe County's COVID case numbers are trending down, but hospitalizations are spiking.
The health department confirmed 1,174 new cases yesterday.
8 new deaths were confirmed -- bringing the county's death toll to 1,614.
But 679 people in the Finger Lakes Region are hospitalized with the virus.
That's an increase of 30 since Sunday, and nearly 150 more than a week ago at this time.
ICU patients have declined slightly in recent days, to 110.
