Warren Accepts Plea Deal, Will Resign by December 1st

Mayor Lovely Warren is resigning from office.

She has accepted a plea deal in her felony campaign finance and gun cases.

She pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor election law charge, and will resign by December first.

The deal allows her to keep her law license, and she can run for future office.

She and her two co-defendants will be sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge.

All three were scheduled to go to trial this week on charges money was illegally shifted from Warren's political action committee to her 2017 re-election campaign.
