Monroe County's Guardian Program First Month Results

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says its new effort to address the recent violence in Rochester has resulted in 26 arrests in its first month.

The Operation Guardian program began last month, putting deputies in some of the city's hot spots for violence.

The program involves more patrols, neighborhood engagement, and what the sheriff's office calls -- strategic enforcement tactics.

The arrests include one for murder, two for assault, and two for sexual assault. The other arrests were for parole violations, drugs, weapons, robbery, and burglary.
