New York State Covid Rates On The Rise

The COVID-19 positivity rate in New York State has crept above one percent for the first time in more than seven weeks.

Of the slightly more than 65-thousand test results reported Saturday, 666 came back positive.

That's a rate of one-point-oh-two percent and the first time that figure has been above one percent since May 20th.

State health officials say the highly contagious delta variant is driving the increase, and they ar urging unvaccinated New Yorkers to get the vaccine.
