Senate GOP Leader Asks AG to Expand Nursing Home COVID-19 Probe

A letter from the Republican Senate Minority Leader is calling for an expanded investigation from the Attorney General’s office into how the state has handled COVID-19.

GOP Leader Rob Ortt penned a letter to NY AG Letitia James requesting her office to formally broaden the scale and scope of its investigation into COVID-related nursing home deaths.

In the letter, Ortt says quote “There must be a full, top to bottom investigation of the Cuomo Administration’s decisions on nursing homes, its subsequent and continuing coverup of those decisions, the mass exodus of Department of Health employees, and the current failures of this administration’s vaccination efforts.”

Last week Ortt called for Senate committee subpoenas of administration officials and independent state and federal investigations, and also called for the legislature to immediately revoke the governor's emergency powers.
