Governor Cuomo has deployed one-thousand members of the New York National Guard to Washington, DC.
The governor says they'll be in the nation's capital for up to two weeks to ensure a peaceful transition of presidential power.
Cuomo is calling the storming of the U.S. Capitol a "failed coup" and the final chapter of what he refers to as a "cruel" President Trump administration.
