Another Record Number of COVID-19 Cases in Monroe County

COVID-19 cases in Monroe County continue to surge.

The Health Department reported another record, 654 new COVID-19 cases in the county and 19 additional deaths between November 23rd through November 30th.

The 7-day rolling average positivity rate for Monroe County is 6.61%, and the average of new cases is 518 new cases per day.

Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says he has a simple message for the community: now is the time to double down on wearing your mask and maintaining your physical distance. Adding that now is frankly the time to stop gathering with those outside your household.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello says we must work together to slow the spread. He says we've done it before and we need to do it again. Bello says we are either part of the solution, or we're not.
