Sheriff's Office Gets Federal Grant to Expand ROCTAC

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is getting a federal grant to spread its Rochester Threat Advisory Committee Program to Albany, Buffalo and Syracuse.

The program, known as ROCTAC, has been operating about two years.

Law enforcement agencies and other agencies share information about cases in which a risk of violence is considered imminent, or situations where there are warning signs.

The ROCTAC Advisory Group can recommend intervention strategies.
