Rochester Man Mistakenly Arrested Two Years Ago Arrested For Assault

The Rochester man whose mistaken identity arrest made headlines two years ago has been arrested for an assault.

Christopher Pate was arrested Friday for the attack October 3rd on a 57-year-old man in Charlotte.

The man was hit with a hammer and cut with a razor. Another suspect, 43-year-old Jennifer Shea, of Rochester, was arrested the day after the attack.

Pate is suing the city over his arrest in 2018. He suffered a broken bone in his face after he was struck by Officer Michael Sippel, who was fired and convicted of assault.
