Rochester Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Fraud Charges

A 55-year-old Rochester man has pleaded guilty to attempting to defraud the Holiday Inn of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Federal prosecutors say Henry Williams was working as a front desk clerk in January when he began using the hotel's Point of Sale machine to fraudulently load nearly $5,000 onto credit cards that he controlled.

Williams then tried to cover his tracks by impersonating another hotel employee and making false complaints of criminal activity by another employee. Authorities say he attempted to steal $840,000 in additional fraudulent refunds.

At the time, Williams was already on probation for a 2016 bank fraud conviction.
