One Arrest and One Officer Injured During Protest Last Night

Rochester police say there was one arrest during the protest last night at the Public Safety Building.

Police say officers repeatedly told 32-year-old Kyle Davis, of Rochester, to cease pointing a laser in the eyes of seven officers.

When they moved in for an arrest, police say Davis tried to run.

One officer was hurt during the arrest. He needed treatment for a cut and a potential additional injury to his eye.

Davis is charged with assault on an officer, attempted assault on an officer and resisting arrest.

Police estimate roughly 400 people took part on last night's protest. They marched from Jefferson Avenue, to the Public Safety Building, then City Hall.

Protesters painted the word "murderers" outside City Hall.
