AG James to Empanel Grand Jury in Prude Death Investigation

NY Attorney General Letitia James

The investigation into Daniel Pride's death will go to a grand jury.

New York Attorney General Letitia James will move to empanel a grand jury, a move activists have called for since the bodycam footage of Prude's arrest on March 23rd was released.

In a statement, James says “The Prude family and the Rochester community have been through great pain and anguish. My office will immediately move to empanel a grand jury as part of our exhaustive investigation into this matter.”

Seven Rochester Police officers have been suspended as the investigation continues, and another round of demonstrations is expected for Saturday night on Jefferson Ave. in ROchester, according to Free The People ROC's Twitter page.
