Governor Cuomo is asking New York state hospitals to do whatever they can to increase capacity in the coming days and weeks.
At a news conference yesterday, he explained there are an estimated 53,000 beds available in New York state hospitals. However, Cuomo said they need to achieve 100% capacity growth in order to have 110,000 available beds to treat the coronavirus patients whose numbers are spiking dramatically during this pandemic.
