Gov. Cuomo Open to Changing NYS Bail Reform Law

Governor Cuomo says he's open to changing the state's controversial new bail reform legislation.

It went into effect January 1st and eliminates pretrial detention and cash bail for most non-violent felony and misdemeanor cases.

Critics say that prevents judges from taking the necessary steps to keep dangerous criminals off the streets.

Yesterday, the governor called the law a work in progress and said he'll collaborate with the Legislature to make changes.
