Assemblyman Kolb Stepping Down as Minority Leader

Assemblyman Brian Kolb says he will step down as Minority Leader of the State Assembly but will continue to represent the 131st Assembly District. Kolb is accused of DWI after he ran his state-issued SUV into a ditch in front of his home on New Year's Eve.

In a statement issued late this afternoon, Kolb said he's always tried to put the needs and best interests of the Republican Conference ahead of his own. He says he won't allow his own personal challenges to distract from the goals of Assembly Republicans. Kolb says that means it's time for a new leader to step in.
