Statute Of Limitations Suspended For Sex Abuse Claims

A new law designed to help child sex abuse victims take action against their alleged abusers goes into effect today.

The Child Victims Act allows people who say they were victimized as children to have one year to file civil lawsuits, regardless of how long ago the alleged abuse occurred.

The bill temporarily suspends the statute of limitations for cases involving the rape and sexual abuse of children.
