Lawsuit Threatened Against Pittsford Schools Over Racial Incident

A notice of claim has been filed against the Pittsford Central School District by the family of a Pittsford Mendon High School student, claiming she has been subjected to racist and derogatory language by another student.

The notice is the first step in a lawsuit against the district over incidents against the biracial girl including use of the N-word and the word "monkey." The court paperwork says concerns were brought to the school's principal and Pittsford Central's school superintendent. The district promised to take action, but the plaintiffs say that didn't happen.

Meanwhile there's been a report of another racial incident at Pittsford Mendon, involving a different victim. A swastika and the N-word were reportedly drawn onto her desk, according to an email sent to school staff by the principal.
