Leticia Astacio is working to put her past behind her as she campaigns for a seat on Rochester City Council.
She tells WHAM1180's Bob Lonsberry she doesn't have a drinking problem, but she was dealing with depression.
Astacio is running for the seat in the Northwest District. The petition deadline is April 4.
She faces trial April 1 on a charge she tried to buy a gun while on probation from her DWI conviction. She also says she wants to have a conversation with anyone who is turned off by what has been reported about her.
