Father of Rochester Toddler Who Was Subject of AMBER Alert, Now Charged

The man who Rochester Police say went missing with his daughter and sparked a statewide AMBER Alert yesterday, is now facing charges.

Police say they were called around Noon yesterday by the mother of Ta-Niyah Williams, who said she became worried when Ta-Niyah wasn't returned home from a visit with her father Terrence Williams.  It was additionally reported to police that Williams was contemplating suicide.

Several hours after police issued that AMBER alert,  they say the 1-year-old was brought home by an acquaintance of Williams, at his direction.

Police say during their preliminary investigation, they learned that Williams was wanted for being a sex offender who had failed to change his address. Williams was arrested today and is facing two charges in relation to his sex offender status.
