Some parts of Western New York are experiencing a drought.
The U.S. Drought Monitor says northern sections of the region are in a moderate drought. An area stretching from Niagara Falls to western Wayne County has received only 40 percent of the rainfall that it sees in a normal summer.
Minimal rain chances are expected in the next few days, so the drought area may increase.
