SUNY Student Assembly Against Changes to Guidelines on Affirmative Action

The SUNY Student Assembly is coming out against changes to a federal guidance on the consideration of race in university admissions.

The changes were announced this week by the Justice and Education Departments. The guidance issued by the Obama Administration encouraged campuses to consider race as part of a holistic admissions process in order to promote campus diversity.

The Student Assembly says it is deeply committed to promoting diversity and inclusion on all sixty-four SUNY campuses.
